Quick Weekend anyone?

This past weekend was so quick! Do any of you feel that way?!
Friday was so fun! We hung out with Fure's wife all day long! We got pictures of Alli at Sadies at MOA! And I got the most adorable pictures of Alli!!! We had cold stone for dinner, so the kids were flying high when Mark came home at around 10pm...
Saturday we layed around and Heidi went to a youth activity...Famous Daves was dinner! NUmmmy!
Sunday we were suppose to have a showing but, they didn't show up, but we still hung out with grandma and grandpa for the afternoon.
The kids all woke up sick with colds Monday...perfect timing for Mark! I pray this cold doesnt spread and leaves quickly!
This Friday we are planning on heading up to Ely for Winterfest!
Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Sydney! 4 years Old!!!!

Sydney with her birthday cake...Princess castle!
Adorable picture of Alli, bundled up in the bathroom sink, checking herself out in the mirror.

We had a great weekend with Mark last week. It was so fun to have him an extra day because of the holiday!
Sydney and I worked hard on making her a princess castle cake, and it turned out just like we planned... She loves the color purple, so we decorated just for her...we added rose bushes to the courtyard of the castle to give it some extra color. Friday night was great, my sister Melanie came up to watch the kids, while I got out with my girlfriends. We had a great time at Cafe Late down in St Paul. I highly recommend it! They had the neatest pizza's ever. I chose the vegeterian one...my girlfriends had nacho pizza's, barbeque chicken, margarita, and they even had potatoes in their pizza! Crazy! They also had delicious salads, soups, and desserts! But it was SO COLD!!! Mark got in late but, safely! Saturday was a hoot! We went to Chucky E Cheese for Sydney's birthday. Aunties and Grandparents came along...I think us adults were getting into it more than the kids (me, in particular)...we were able to get 1300+ tickets so Sydney got an extensive sticker collection prize! Afterwards we went to Great Grandma Olson's for cake and presents...Sydney had so much fun! We were pretty tired, but not too tired for our favorite Chinese food at ASIA Chow Mein in Heights! It was so gooooood...The kids were so tired from our day, they went to bed at 7:30! Sunday was actually Sydney's birthday so, she brought cookies that we made to her class, and she got her birthday spankings from us all :) After the night church we asked her where she wanted to eat...and she choose McDonalds! We picked up a couple of movies and headed home. Since Mark was home on Monday, we hit Albertville Shopping and had a great time. A lot of deals, if you get a chance...Gap was a jackpot...all their clearance was 50% off! Old Navy had great deals, along with Carters and Children's Place.
Mark headed back to Ely after 7pm, so he didn't get up to his place until 11:30pm!
Tuesday we just went back to the usuals nothing exciting...Today is our family's day of prayer. If you think about it...please pray with us, as we ask God to sell our house before the end of the month!
We are ready to be a family again and move up to where we know God wants us... Please pass our prayer request to everyone you know will take time to pray today!
Thanks you all...have a great week!

This is Ely, MN

Mark & Sydney tackling the big hill!
Climbing the ski hill!
Adorable Alli! We had a great weekend in Ely! We got there Thursday night and the kids were wired! It was so great to see Mark! We all slept in the same room (except Heidi, she got the living room to herself)... Friday we visited Mark at work (we only had to walk which was nice), and than in the evening Mark and I went to his work Christmas party. I met all the board members and their spouses and his coworkers and their spouses. It was nice, but definitely different. The people of Ely are really into their heritage and ancestry. It's kind of neat. Alot of them are from Finland and take pride in their family's past. They were very impressed with Mark! They said he is so "humble, friendly, personable, etc...". I knew he would be great at taking over!!!
Saturday we took the sleds out and hit the ski slopes to go sledding...man, was that a long hill. I think we only went down it a few times before we went to find a smaller hill! It was great. Cross country skiing is HUGE up there. They have alot of "clubs" and things for people to get involved with. Snowmobiling is also big, going on day trips to Grand Marais and back, or just going out into the wilderness! It was neat. Saturday night we walked downtown Ely with Carter and Sydney. It was so peaceful at night and beautiful.
Sunday we weren't feeling the greatest, so we hung around the house and than we headed back for good ole St Franny.
Heidi started school again and lost her locker and so she had to come home w/no coat/gloves! On a freezing below zero day! Bummer!
Sydney and I are busy putting together her Princess Birthday Cake, preparing for Saturday at Chucky Cheese! She can hardly wait.
Alli is blabbering "dada dadad" all the time and is just full of smiles!
We count down the days/hours until Daddy comes home...but for now we know "I know the plans I have for you, plan to help you, not harm you. Plans to prosper and plans for a future" Jeremiah 29:11
(Oh, thanks for praying, my nights are going better. I am getting much more sleep. Thank you)

Back to Ely

Well, we are definitely missing Mark...especially me...I think the kids sleep horrible while he is gone. I am up every hour, for a while during the night. Dealing with fire alarms, kids falling out of bed, throwing up, coughing waking them up, Alli crying, etc...It's crazy. I would give just about anything to get a full nights rest w/out waking up! HELP!
Anyways, Sydney was really struggling this week in missing Mark, so we are heading up to Ely a day early.
Heidi has some appointment tomorrow morning downtown, and than up we go! Mark has a work Christmas party Friday night, so we will be going to that and Saturday is sledding and hanging out...
Enjoy your weekend!

Lonely & New Teeth!

I trust you all had a great Christmas. Here is a picture of Faith and Alli at Christmas in their matching pj's. We had a blast with Kirk, Brenda and Faith this Christmas. Unfortunately, they are all really sick with colds/flu, etc...
We are officially LONELY. Mark has moved up to Ely and has started his new job. He is doing well and keeping very busy. He did a little grocery shopping to stock up his fridge/cupboards! He put together his two necessities...his bed and tv! :)
Alli has some big news, Heidi noticed Friday when we were in the truck heading up to Ely that she had some sharp teeth poking through! OUCH! She popped her first bottom tooth...Hooray for Alli!!
Heidi is going to be starting school next monday at St Francis High School, so we are shopping and enjoying all the company with her this week.
Sydney and Carter are playing "house" and laughing with Alli as they play with her phone. Good sounds to hear :)
Hope you have a great day...Since Mark is up north, I will be trying to post as often as I can.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of three beautful children. I like to keep busy up here in Ely, since there isn't much to do. Sydney is in preschool, and I take the kids to ECFE every week. I am starting a ladies bible study 2 times a month and am also leading another bible study, twice a month. We love hiking, boating, fishing and going on dates together...we love our new life up here in Ely!
